Illinois Football: Illini Recruiting Breakdown for 2017

Another recruit that would boost the Illinois football defense alongside Cotton is Faion Hicks.

Hicks is an extremely talented cornerback from Pembroke, Florida.

Just about two weeks ago, Hicks made the announcement that he was cutting his list down to just eight teams.  Well, Illinois made the list and is in the running for this talented player.

Hicks included the following teams on his list; Appalachian State, Florida Atlantic, Iowa State, Northern Illinois, Central Florida, South Florida, Western Kentucky, and Illinois.

The recruitment is going to be interesting to see if Illinois can snag Hicks.

Right now, Hicks is rated as a 3-star player who is the No. 60 athlete in the class of 2017.

Hicks does not have a visit set up with any team right now, but he does plan on setting one up to Illinois sometime this fall.

After his visit to Illinois and wherever else he decides to go, Hicks will then make his final college decision.  He does not have an exact date set just yet.

Hicks is another big-time target for the Illini to build their defense into a Big Ten powerhouse.
