JD Vail
JD is a contributor to FanSided's Writing Illini and The Timber Lean. He is a published poet, podcaster, and business owner. JD has previously written for various SB Nation blogs the Beautiful Game Network, and other sports blogs covering American soccer. JD was previous a sideline reporter and content contributor to AFC Columbia, an amateur soccer club in Columbia, Missouri where he lives. JD completed his MFA in Writing at Lindenwood University in 2011.

Sam Fariss
Sam Fariss is a staff writer for our NCAA team. She attended the University of Oregon (Go Ducks) where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Sam has covered college football and other collegiate sports for six years now. Her favorite teams are the Ducks (of course) and the Texas Longhorns because she was raised in Austin.

The idea of FanSided was born in 2007, when two brothers felt that their favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs, was being under-covered by the mainstream media. Taking matters into their own hands, they launched Arrowhead Addict, a move that would spawn the creation of FanSided in 2009, a network of over 300+ fan-powered unique sports, entertainment and lifestyle sites dedicated to team-specific, sport-specific, genre-specific, and fanbase-specific coverage.
