Illinois basketball has had some special talent over the years, and some of those players are still trying to stick in the NBA.
Quincy Guerrier knows how hard it is to make The Association. He finished up his college player career with the Illini in 2023-24, and last season, he spent most of his time with the Raptors 905 G-League team.
In 28 games, Guerrier’s numbers weren’t bad in the G-League. He averaged 9.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game. The hope is that he can show enough to get on to a Raptors roster that doesn’t look great for 2025-26.
Quincy Guerrier Summer League schedule with the Toronto Raptors
- Game 1 – Chicago Bulls vs Toronto Raptors – 8:00 p.m. ET; Friday, July 11 (NBA TV)
- Game 2 – Toronto Raptors vs Orlando Magic – 6:00 p.m. ET; Sunday, July 13 (ESPN 2)
- Game 3 – Toronto Raptors vs Denver Nuggets – 8:00 p.m. ET; Tuesday, July 15 (ESPN+)
- Game 4 – Golden State Warriors vs Toronto Raptors – 10:00 p.m. ET; Thursday, July 17 (NBA TV)
In the 2024 Summer League, Guerrier didn’t get a ton of time to shine. He only averaged 12.9 minutes per game, but still managed to put up 4.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.

There aren’t a ton of big names playing alongside Guerrier in the Raptors Summer League. He does have Chucky Hepburn in the backcourt. He played three seasons at Wisconsin before finishing at Louisville.
Guerrier does have a chance to play against a former teammate in game four. Former Illini Coleman Hawkins, who finished his time at Kansas State, is on the Golden State Warriors Summer League Roster. There is a legitimate chance those two are on the court at the same time.
I want to see Guerrier get to the NBA. He is someone who could be a nice deep rotational role player for a franchise. This is his time to shine and impress NBA scouts.
