It is the next morning, and the Illinois football win over South Carolina on Tuesday still feels sweet.
This is a great way to head into the offseason. The Illini managed to win their 10th game of the season, and on top of that, the Gamecocks continue to give me and the rest of the Illinois fan base content by the hour.
After the loss to the Orange and Blue last night, South Carolina fans were not happy. The crazy part is, I can’t put it in to words, so I will just let them speak for themselves.
In social media posts, South Carolina fans vented about how they didn’t get their way and how Illinois played a down Gamecocks program. The fanbase was unhinged, and I clipped some of the more interesting posts from the night.
Here are the top unhinged South Carolina fan posts in the wake of their loss in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl
This is one of my favorite posts of the night. Who wants to let this guy know? Psst, if South Carolina played that game the way Illinois did, they would have won the game. Do you know why? Because Illinois won the game.
Timbo has a laundry list of complaints. I had to squint but still couldn’t find it. Where among these complaints is the fact a four and five-star-laden South Carolina squad couldn’t beat Illinois?
The New Year has started pretty well over here…
Good, you shouldn’t like a team that you have never beaten in the history of the South Carolina program.
Bret Bielema couldn’t make it in the SEC, while he just took down one of the best SEC teams. So, that means Shane Beamer can’t make it in the SEC too, right?
Do you want some French Cries with that Waa-burger?
Illinois’ best win is against a team that a lot of people in the country thought should have been in the College Football Playoff? Sure, I’ll take that. I don’t think that is the dig you think it is…
Oh, you know what a win column is? Shocked. Here is a win column stat; wins Illinois 10, South Carolina 9.
A post about how Bret Bielema is disrespectful to the game of football. False. Also, I vaguely remember Shane Beamer having to be restrained by his coaching staff as he went at refs on multiple occasions. That is just good old-fashioned trash talk, amirite?!
