Shane Beamer still crying after the South Carolina loss in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl

When Shane Beamer doesn't get his way, he blazes a trail of tears as he whines until someone starts listening.

Emotions were running high in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl in a game that was heavily contested.

This was actually a pretty good game with the Illini coming out on top at the end. When a team loses, usually the head coach bites the bullet and moves on to the next step in making the team better for the next game or season.

In the case of South Carolina, despite the calendar flipping to a new year, head coach Shane Beamer is still reeling over what happened on Tuesday.

The theatrics of Beamer in the game were pointless, but he wasn’t done going off on the refs and the Illinois football program.

In a social media post on Wednesday morning, Beamer quote replied to his player Jalon Kilgore’s dad. In the post, Beamer starts off with the obvious and what everyone saw on Tuesday. Illinois won the game and played well.

It is almost like I can hear an eye roll in that first sentence. After that intro to the post, Beamer starts going off.

Shane Beamer needs to start focusing on his team and why they fell to the Illinois football program

I understand getting heated in the moment. It is a big game that would have been nice to win as you head into the offseason. But you lost, and after you lose, you suck it up and move on.

Beamer waking up and saying, “Yup, let’s go off and whine some more,” is amazing. He should honestly be focusing on why his team wasn’t able to beat Illinois with the talent they have on the field.

South Carolina has had a top 25 recruiting class in each of the past three seasons, which includes a top 30 transfer portal recruiting class in each of those years. They have had a total of 21 four-star recruits and two five-star recruits signed up. And you still can’t beat Illinois.

Instead of button-mashing the keyboard and complaining that you didn’t get your way, you should probably start figuring out how you can’t beat Illinois. But you are in the SEC, so it just means more, right?
