From working out at the 2026 NFL Combine to showing off skills at Illinois's own Pro Day, former Fighting Illini quarterback Luke Altmyer hasn't taken his foot off the gas pedal since the season ended.
After three seasons with the Illini, transferring to Illinois from Ole Miss, the veteran quarterback declared for the 2026 NFL Draft and has since kept himself as busy as possible, working to improve his draft stock.
Most recently, Atlmyer reportedly met with assistants from the Green Bay Packers' organization, either the offensive coordinator, Adam Stenovich, or the quarterbacks coach, Luke Getsy.

While Altmyer has met with numerous programs, either at the NFL Combine or over the last few months, the fact that he is holding meetings with just a couple of weeks until the draft is notable.
Clearly, Altmyer isn't taking no, or even maybe, as an answer, and is doing everything in his power to show that at least one NFL franchise should take an interest in him.

Last season, Atlmyer led the Fighting Illini to their incredible 9-4 overall record, including a 30-28 win over the Tennessee Volunteers in the Liberty Mutual Music City Bowl.
With 3,007 passing yards for 22 touchdowns and only five interceptions, as well as 242 rushing yards for five more touchdowns, Altmyer had a nearly flawless final season for Illinois.
Throughout his collegiate career, Altmyer amassed 7,924 total passing yards for 60 touchdowns and 24 interceptions. He earned 744 rushing yards for 13 touchdowns, and even had two receptions for six yards and one last touchdown.
Altmyer is talented on all fronts, and meeting with franchises is only an opportunity that he has a great head on his shoulders as well.
