After a much-needed bye week, the Illinois football program is back in action on Saturday against Oregon.

This was a terrifying game to start the season, but at this point, it feels winnable. I know that Illinois hasn’t looked great lately, but there was a spark at the end of the Michigan State win.

The confidence in the Illini has more to do with Oregon not looking right lately. It will be a matchup of backup quarterbacks, as Illinois enters the game with Michael Clayton II, and the Ducks will likely have Dylan Raiola.

Illinois vs. Oregon hasn’t exactly been the biggest rivalry of all time. The two teams have only played four times, with the most recent matchup coming two seasons ago when the Ducks dragged the Illini 38-9.

Illinois did get the best of Oregon in the first-ever game, though. The Ducks traveled to Champaign and were sent home with a 20-16 loss. That was the only win for the Orange and Blue in the four games we have played against Oregon. Let’s make it No. 2 on Saturday.
