This is a huge opportunity for the Illinois football team to put the program on the map.
The last time the Illini entered a massive game like this, we got beat by 53 points. Don’t expect that again. Illinois’ game against Indiana was an outlier.
Ohio State is a great program, though. They have athletes from top to bottom and everywhere in between. Illinois is going to have a hard time beating them, and Las Vegas agrees.
Here are the Illinois football vs Ohio State Buckeyes betting odds for week seven
- Moneyline: Illinois +440, Ohio State -600
Predictably, the Illini enter the huge Saturday matchup as big underdogs. Ohio State is the No. 1 team in the country, and they are going off as -600 favorites. Meanwhile, Illinois is currently +440 underdogs on DraftKings.
This is the biggest underdog Illinois has been this season. I would imagine the weak secondary and the good Ohio State passing attack are major reasons for the big favorite.
- Spread: Illinois +14.5 (-115), Ohio State -14.5 (-105)
Las Vegas has a pretty juicy spread when it comes to the Illinois vs Ohio State matchup. Illinois is getting +14.5 against the Buckeyes. That is a tempting line considering the Illini are pretty healthy entering the game. You will get -115 odds on that spread.
Ohio State enters Saturday -14.5 points, which will get you -105 odds. I don’t know if Illinois can stop the Buckeyes’ offense, but Luke Altmyer should be able to put up some points with the Illini offense, too.
- Total: Over 50.5 points (-105), Under 50.5 points (-115)
I am pretty surprised by the over/under of the Illinois vs Ohio State game. DraftKings has this line set at over/under 50.5 points.
If you take the over 50.5 points, you get -105 odds. The under 50.5 points will get you -115 odds. Both teams have good offenses. I think you are more likely to see a shootout than a tough defensive game. I am not going to suggest anything, but personally, I am leaning heavily on the over in this game.
