No. 1 Jeremiah Fears

The No. 1 player on my wish list for 2025 is an extremely talented guard who we can not let get away. Illinois basketball should put every resource into landing Jeremiah Fears.

Fears is a 6-foot-2, 165-pound combo guard from Compass Prep High School out in Arizona. He is rated as a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 40 player in the class of 2025. He is also the No. 6 combo guard in the country and the No. 2 player coming out of Arizona.

Every program in the country is going to want Fears on their roster. He has double-digit scholarship offers on the board right now, and they are all big-time programs.

Illinois has been recruiting Fears for a long time. We came in with a scholarship offer to the talented guard back in September 2021. That was when he was playing with Joliet West High School. He has since transferred down to Compass Prep.

Fears isn’t just looked at as one of the top players in the class of 2025. He is actually one of the top players in the country, as he was invited to the Top 100 Camp that took place over the last few days. This camp features the top players from around the world.

Illinois needs to land Fears. He has already taken an unofficial visit to Champaign, and there is a clear interest in playing for the Illini. When it comes to the game of basketball, Fears is the complete package. This is a big recruitment for the Orange and Blue.
