3. Kylan Boswell

Point guard is a position that will be extremely important to land in 2023. With there being uncertainty about the position when Andre Curbelo leaves the program, it is going to be crucial to land someone the caliber of Kylan Boswell.

Boswell is now moving up the 247Sports recruiting rankings. He started Wednesday off as the No. 21 player in the class of 2023, and now he is the No. 13 player in the class. The eight-spot jump is fairly big, but I think everyone understands this kid is one of the best at his position.

I think the recruitment of Boswell is pretty quiet right now as far as official visits is concerned. He does have some unofficial visits coming up, though.

It looks like Boswell will be taking unofficial visits to UCLA, Arizona, USC, and Illinois in the weeks and months. These visits come just weeks after the Illini coaching staff visited Boswell. Clearly, there is a strong interest between the two parties.

One of the big recruiting chips Illinois has right now is the fact Boswell is from Champaign. He transferred out of Champaign to play high school basketball at a bigger program to get more shine. And, boy howdy, the kid is getting that shine with roughly 21 scholarships already on the table.

Landing Boswell would be huge for the Illinois basketball program. He would be the future of the program at point guard.
