No. 3 Guard

Starter: Adam Miller

This is where the Illinois basketball lineup gets really fun. If Ayo Dosunmu decides to return, that would mean Andres Feliz would be the only Illini guard who departed the program. Illinois would then need to find a replacement for Feliz. That placement would be incoming freshman, Adam Miller.

I have Miller coming into the Illinois program and starting from day one at the No. 3 guard spot. This kid is one of the best recruits the Illini have landed in the last couple of decades. Miller can also do it all on the basketball court. But his main attribute is his ability to score. He can shoot from the outside but also has the ability to get to the rim. I think Miller is going to be amazing in year one.

Backup: Austin Hutcherson

Jacob Grandison was one of the transfers Illinois was able to land last year. While he is going to be a great backup, he wasn’t the only transfer that came into the program. Austin Hutcherson also transferred in.

Hutcherson came from Wesleyan University where he put up some big numbers. He averaged 20 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists as a sophomore. After sitting out a year due to NCAA transfer rules, the junior will be able to see how well his skills translate onto the big stage in 2020. I think Hutcherson is going to be a perfect backup No. 3 guard for the Illini. I can’t wait to see what he can do on the court.
