2. Demetrius Cannon – Top 10

There are a handful of offensive playmakers who have narrowed their top lists and have kept the Illini involved. Some of these recruits are from all over the country. But then there are some playmakers who are closer to Champaign. One to keep an eye on is Demetrius Cannon.

Cannon is a 6-foot-3, 205-pound wide receiver from Trinity Catholic High School and resides in St. Louis, Missouri. He is rated as a three-star recruit who is the No. 494 player in the class of 2021 and the No. 81 wide receiver in the nation. He is also the No. 6 player in the state of Missouri.

The offers have been plentiful for Cannon. Who wouldn’t want a 6-foot-3 wide receiver? But Cannon decided to narrow his list down to just 10 programs that he will be choosing from. The 10 teams to make his list include West Virginia, Missouri, Arkansas, Penn State, Indiana, Vanderbilt, Kansas, Louisville, Kentucky and Illinois.

247Sports has the recruitment down to pretty much Arkansas and Illinois. The Razorbacks are in the mix because former Missouri head coach, Barry Odom, is their defensive coordinator now. Honestly, I think the recruitment for Cannon is probably down to Illinois, Missouri and Arkansas with Penn State being a dark horse. I would say the Illini are in the lead, though.
