No. 2 Guard

Starter: Trent Frazier

There are a lot of changes happening with the Illinois basketball team from last season to the upcoming rendition. But one of the constants on this team to make fans feel more comfortable is Trent Frazier. He is someone who flew into the hearts of many Illini fans and will always be remembered for the rest of time.

I have Frazier slotted in as the starting No. 2 guard for the Orange and Blue. Last season, Andres Feliz, Ayo Dosunmu and Frazier all pretty much shared the same role, but I think Frazier is going to take the reins this season at the No. 2 spot. I expect his shooting to improve with him getting his shots more, though.  But, with Frazier in this role, I think the Illini will thrive in his final season.

Backup: Transfer/Recruit

This is where the loss of Ayo will hurt the Illini the most. The depth issue is real and is something Illinois needs to fix this offseason. How will the coaching staff fix this issue? I think there are still some transfers out there on the market who could help this team.

The first option who would fit well in this spot would be Trevor Lakes. He is a DII transfer from the University of Indianapolis. His shooting is off the charts. He is someone who could come in and put up numbers. The next option would be Ryan Betley. He is transferring from Penn and would fit well as a backup to Frazier. Both of these options can rain threes.
