$4 Spot

Option 1 – Ayo Dosunmu

Option 2 – Brandon Paul

Option 3 – Demetri McCamey

Option 4 – Roger Powell

My Pick – Ayo Dosunmu

Each category is tough and the four-dollar one doesn’t hold anything back. This section consists of Ayo Dosunmu, Brandon Paul, Demetri McCamey and Roger Powell. Each brought something different to the game.

Paul was such a special player when he played for Illinois. There were times he was a little erratic but he would also put up points like it was his job. His performance against Ohio State and the clutch buzzer beaters on multiple other occasions will always stick in my memory.

One of the most underrated players in Illinois history is McCamey. He could dish the ball out with the best of the best that have come through the program. The time McCamey was with the program was right after the national title run, so it was tough to be him. He was a great player, though.

That national title team was special. Powell was a big part of that team with his hardnosed rebounding and ability to rally the troops. He didn’t put up massive numbers but he was always right there helping the team win games. He was able to do whatever needed to be done.

Those three players are great, but I am going to go with Dosunmu in this four-dollar section. Dosunmu has all the attributes I want on my basketball team. He would pair nicely next to Williams in the backcourt. Dosunmu can score the ball well and has the ability to distribute even better. This kid is going to be a superstar during his sophomore campaign.
