Let’s not get two talented Williams quarterbacks confused. This Williams quarterback is named Isiah, or as Illinois fans know him as, Juice. There was a period of time where the Illini had some great seasons in the late 2000s that were assisted by this guy.

Williams was a 6-foot-2, 210-pound pro-style quarterback coming out of Chicago Vocational Center High School in Chicago, Illinois. He was rated as a four-star recruit who was the No. 69 player in the class of 2006 and the No. 3 pro-style quarterback in the nation. He was also the No. 2 player in the state of Illinois as well.

Illinois was able to snag Williams as part of a top 30 class for the Illini in 2006. That is an impressive feat considering how bad the Orange and Blue were the previous four years. But Illinois managed to snag him along with a few other offensive weapons like Jeff Cumberland.

Williams had one of the better quarterback careers we have seen in recent years with the Illini. He finished his Illinois career throwing for 8,037 yards, 56 touchdowns and 44 interceptions. The best season the Illini had under Williams was, obviously, the Rose Bowl run in 2007. Williams’ numbers were solid and the team accomplishments will live on in Illini history.
