1. Mookie Cooper

The top offensive recruit left on the board for the Illini is Mookie Cooper. This kid is a special talent who was once committed but has since reopened his recruitment.

Cooper is a 5-foot-11, 178-pound wide receiver from Trinity Catholic High School in St. Louis, Missouri. He is rated as a four-star recruit who is the No. 63 player in the class of 2020 and the No. 12 wide receiver in the nation. He is also the No. 2 player in Missouri as well.

At one time, Cooper was committed to play for the Texas Longhorns. He gave his commitment to Texas back on February 16 of this year. Cooper then took an unofficial visit to Illinois on March 3. Just five days after that unofficial visit, he reopened his recruitment.

Since Cooper reopened his recruitment, he has received offers from so many more programs. Teams like Miami, Oklahoma and USC, among others, have all come in with offers. But, Cooper has also visited Illinois another time this past weekend. 247Sports has Illinois at 89-percent to land this talented pass catcher.

I think it is easy to see why Cooper is the top offensive priority right now. He is a really talented player who likes the Illinois program. The Illini need wide receiver help as well. They also have his former high school quarterback, Isaiah Williams, coming in this season. That is a great recipe for landing a top recruit.
