1. Oscar Tshiebwe

The top target for the Illinois basketball team right now is Oscar Tshiebwe. He is a big man who is on the verge of making a commitment here in the next few months.

According to Rivals, Tshiebwe is a 6-foot-8, 230-pound center from Kennedy Catholic High School in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. He is now rated as a five-star recruit who is the No. 21 player in the class of 2019.

Before the rankings came out on Tuesday, Rivals had Tshiebwe ranked as the No. 45 player in the class of 2019. His rise during AAU basketball in the summer has really lifted his status to new heights.

Recruiting plans have pretty much been set for Tshiebwe as well. He already took an official visit to Baylor on August 31. He then visited Illinois this past weekend. Tshiebwe will then finish off his official visit schedule with Kentucky on September 28 and West Virginia on October 5.

Tshiebwe is also doing some in-home visits as well. He had an in-home visit with West Virginia on Sunday, Baylor on Monday and will be having one with Illinois on Wednesday.

Illinois is in the running for Tshiebwe. He would be a big get for this program. His rise of 24 spots shows you that all national media is starting to pay attention. This kid is for real.
