William Pritchard – Top 5

The Illinois football team made the top five for William Pritchard this past week. This was a good list to make because Pritchard could really help with the Illini offensive line in the future.

Pritchard isn’t ranked or rated according to 247Sports, but he does have a lot of great recruiting attention right now. His top five consists of Tennessee, James Madison, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and Illinois.

Based on location, I would say Virginia Tech has an advantage. They are the closest program to him. But, I wouldn’t count out the Illini in this one. They had enough pull to make his top list, and he is also taking an official visit to Champaign starting on Friday as well.

Looking at Pritchard’s top list, I would say Illinois is likely in second place right now. They have a chance here, but it will be tough to get him to commit to Illinois over Virginia Tech.

If Pritchard does come to Champaign, I see him redshirting year one and then being a backup on the offensive line the first few years with the team. He would then transform into a starting offensive lineman around his redshirt sophomore or junior season. This is a good track for him. I think he could be a really good player with the Illini and, hopefully, they can snag him.
