The class of 2020 is going to be a big one for the Illinois basketball team.

There are a handful of top targets right now. Illinois also offered another top player on Wednesday night as well. Moses Moody was the recipient of that scholarship.

Moody is a 6-foot-5, 179-pound wing player from North Little Rock High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. He is rated as a four-star recruit who is ranked as the No. 26 player in the class of 2020 and the No. 8 shooting guard in the nation.

I like this offers by the Illini, but they will have to compete with just about every Big 12 and SEC program to land Moody. He already has a wide range of offers from big-time programs, which includes Illinois. If the Illini could land Moody, it would be a huge pickup for the program. This kid is the real deal.

Moody is currently playing for the Brad Beal Elite AAU team in the EYBL. He is so good that he was able to class up to the 17U group. You have to be a special player to be able to do this. Not only has he classed up, but he is doing well too.

In the for games of the first session in Dallas, Moody averaged 15 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and only 1 turnover per game. He is very efficient when it comes to the basketball court. He shot 88-percent from the free throw line and 40-percent from three-point range.

Illinois is going to have plenty of room on the roster by 2020. I see Moody being either a No. 2 or No. 3 which is a needed position. Alan Griffin and Tevian Jones are the only ones at those positions who will be around by then, so playing time would not be a problem. He would be sensational in the Orange and Blue.

I hope the Illini can land Moody, but I am not holding my breath. He is a great player in the heart of Big 12 country. This would be a great get by Brad Underwood if he can pull Moody out of Arkansas.
