The Illinois basketball team has one more piece to add to the class of 2018.

This class has some special talent who should help this Illini team next season and, hopefully, into the future as well. Head coach Brad Underwood has done a great job putting together pieces he needs to build the Illini back into a contending program again.

Illinois has had some talented classes come into Champaign over the last 10 years, though. Dating back to the class of 2009, I have been amazed by some of the players. There have been low rated recruits do great things unexpectedly, but there have also been a few handfuls of players who have been highly rated and busted out within the first few years.

Ranking these classes was tough. There was a lot to weigh based on where they were ranked, what players came from these classes and how the players in the classes helped the team in the time they were with the program.

Some of these classes had the depth but didn’t produce much. Others didn’t have depth but produced some wins. Others didn’t have quality recruits at all. But, they each helped form the program to what we see today.

Here is are the top 10 Illini recruiting classes the last 10 years.
