Oklahoma State Cowboys

Last season, the Oklahoma State Cowboys had a good year winning 20 games and making the NCAA tournament. That success came from Brad Underwood being the head coach. He has since accepted the job at Illinois and Mike Boynton Jr. took over the program.

Boynton could possibly have a bright future but he hasn’t been a head coach previously. He was just an assistant coach before taking this job. This coaching inexperience has to hurt his chances to land a player like Dosunmu.

If Dosunmu did choose to play for the Cowboys, he wouldn’t have much talent around him. Oklahoma State secured a four-star and three three-stars from the class of 2016. They then signed only one player for 2017 which was a four-star recruit as well. And in 2018, the Cowboys haven’t signed anyone yet.

So while Dosunmu could pick a Big 12 program to play his college basketball, I doubt he ends up going to Oklahoma State because they won’t have anyone around him. He will be a superstar with a team full of average to below average players. That isn’t conducive to winning on the biggest stage.

Dosunmu won’t pick the Cowboys for these reasons. He will head elsewhere.
