Wake Forest Demon Deacons

For the first time since the 2009-2010 season, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons made the NCAA tournament, sort of. They were in a play-in game as a No. 11 seed and lost to Kansas State to get to the real first round of the postseason.

This big of an NCAA tournament drought is embarrassing for a program. The winning just isn’t there for this team and Dosunmu wants to win at the college level. Even Illinois, with a horrific coach, could make the NCAA tournament once in the last five years. This is a big negative for choosing Wake Forest.

The roster has some talent ahead of Dosunmu as well. Bryant Crawford will be a senior and starting in 2018. He dropped 16.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game as a sophomore. They are also bringing in four-star guard Chaundee Brown as well. This puts another possible player in front of Dosunmu on the roster.

Wake Forest does have a decently big name as their head coach in Danny Manning. But, if you aren’t familiar with his game a few decades ago, the name really doesn’t mean much. He also hasn’t been terribly successful as a coach either. He has only had one season with at least 20 wins in the five years he has been a head coach. That doesn’t exactly scream success.
