1. Ayo Dosunmu (Confidence: 6 out of 10)

Illinois needs more guard depth and getting a player like Ayo Dosunmu would be huge for the program. His recruitment is going to be very difficult for the Illini, though. He is a wanted player by the biggest programs in the nation.

Dosunmu is a 6-foot-4, 172-pound combo guard from Morgan Park High School in Chicago, Illinois. He is rated as a four-star recruit who is the No. 29 player according to Scout and the No. 31 player according to 247Sports in the class of 2018. He is also the best player coming out of the state of Illinois as well.

The scholarship offers have piled up for Dosunmu over the last two or three years. He currently holds 23 offers and most of them are from big-time programs. The projection right now is that Illinois and Kansas are the top two teams but from what I have heard, he hasn’t said that yet.

In a recent interview with Scott Burgess, Dosunmu named off his top schools that have been after him the hardest. The usual programs were on that list so it sounds like he is far away from making a final decision.

Don’t be surprised if Dosunmu makes a cut to his final three programs he will be choosing from. I would assume those three teams would be Illinois, Kansas and Xavier. In the interview with Burgess, Dosunmu mentions Xavier as the team that has been there since the beginning, Kansas is the team who has a Hall of Fame coach and a blue blood program and he just mentioned Illinois as the home-state team. So, that makes me nervous.
