2. Tim Finke (Confidence: 8 out of 10)

The No. 3 spot on the Illinois basketball roster needs to be filled in 2018. Mark Alstork will leave a big gap when he finishes his lone season with the Illini. A player who could fill that spot, and sometimes play at the No. 4, is Tim Finke.

Finke is a 6-foot-6, 195-pound shooting guard from Champaign Central High School in Champaign, Illinois. He is rated as a four-star recruit who is the No. 81 player according to Scout and the No. 98 player according to 247Sports in the class of 2018. He is also ranked as the No. 2 player in the state of Illinois as well.

Over the last year, Finke has really started to gain momentum in the recruiting game. He now has 18 scholarship offers and most of them are from big-time programs. Right now, Scout is projecting Illinois and Vanderbilt are one-two for Finke’s commitment. His recruitment is going to be difficult for the Illini because there are so many teams after his services.

There hasn’t been an indication on where Finke will end up but you have to think, since Illinois doesn’t have a commitment yet for 2018, Underwood will be hard after him. Plus, he is from Champaign and his brother is at Illinois right now, so there is that tie to the program as well.
