Illinois vs. Michigan State

The NCAA tournament wasn’t too far out of reach for this Illinois basketball team as they entered a tough matchup with the Michigan State Spartans. Illinois had just rattled off three wins in a row and were sitting at 17-12 on the year. They needed this game to keep their hopes alive.

The entire Illinois team came to play that night. They had three players score 14 or more points and their bench also contributed 14 points as well. This was a great victory for the Illini over the Spartans, 73-70.

One of the star players that night was Black. He put up a solid 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field. He also displayed a part of his game he has been working on as well. He finished the night 3-of-5 from the three-point line, which is an area that we weren’t too keen on him playing during the season before.

Black also pulled down seven rebounds against Michigan State, and three of those rebounds were offensive. He had a great game in a big moment for the Illini. His scoring was great, his rebounding was solid and he did it all efficiently shooting 66-percent from the field.
