Illinois vs. Central Michigan

Illinois was heading into the matchup against the Central Michigan Chippewas needing a win to move to 8-3 on the season. They were coming off three straight victories in the non-conference and wanted to make it four in a row.

But, the Illini had a tough task on their hands. They were going up against scoring sensation, Marcus Keene. Illinois was focused on getting the win, though, and they did just that.

The Illini continued to feed the ball down to Leron Black on the post and he had a great game. He finished the night scoring 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field. He even got to the free throw line four times and made three of them.

Despite the rebounding not being there – Mike Thorne cleaned up with 11 on the night – Black still had a great game. He only finished with one rebound but was one of the reasons this Illinois team came away with a victory. This was also his season high in points as well.

Black was efficient in this game. His 69-percent field goal rate was one of the best that season as well. Illinois needs that type of production next year from Black.
