Ayo Dosunmu

The top recruit the Illini are after for 2018 is Ayo Dosunmu. He is arguably the most talented guard in the nation and someone that could be a program changer for the Illini.

Dosunmu did his thing in session two of the EYBL. He put up the points and was just an all-around great player like always.

I love the scoring ability that Dosunmu brings to the table. He averaged 19.25 points per game and shot the ball at a decently efficient clip. His lowest shooting rate was 33.3-percent and his highest was 46.7-percent. That is a good gap between the best and worst shooting percentages.

Dosunmu can also dish the ball pretty well. He is more known for his scoring, but he still managed to average 4.5 assists per game in the four contests this weekend. That is some solid ball distribution that Illinois could use in 2018.

There is no doubt in my mind who the No. 1 target is for 2018. Dosunmu is one of the best players in the class and Illinois has been rumored to be one of the top programs for this kid’s commitment.

If Illinois can pull in Dosunmu and continue building a team that fits Underwood’s system, then the future will be extremely bright for the Illini.
