The Illinois football team has wrangled in a good number of recruits already for the class of 2017.  They need more depth at the running back position, though.

Calvin Tyler could be a key addition to solving their depth problems at running back.

Tyler is a 3-star running back from the state of Texas.  He is ranked as the No. 4 all-purpose running back in the state and the No. 18 APB in the country.

Back in July when Tyler was visiting the Illinois campus he mentioned that his decision date is going to be on National Signing Day.

Just a few days ago he couldn’t confirm that would be the date and it could possibly come sooner.  He said to stay tuned.

The one big piece of information that Tyler could confirm is that Illinois and California are the top two teams vying for his commitment right now.

This is big for the Illini because they need more running back depth.  Tyler would fit that bill and the Illinois football team would see success.

This one is going to come down to two teams and, hopefully, Illinois snags this talented tailback.
