Groce needs to lock up Tilmon as soon as possible before one of the big boys comes and takes him away.  This is important and that is why Tilmon is a need.

The final want I have is a player that would be nice to have with Tilmon or would be a great replacement if we can’t pull Tilmon in.

More from Writing Illini

This player goes by the name of Derek Culver.

Culver is rated by all the recruiting sites as a 4-star recruit.  He is a big man that would help the Illini’s rebounding and paint problems they have been suffering through for years.

Right now Culver has 9 scholarship offers from competing schools.  According to Scout Illinois has made it into Culver’s top 6.

This would be a big time pickup for the Illini.  They have Finke right now manning the center position for 2017.  If they get Tilmon in there that would be a nice duo.

If you would then add in Culver, it would make for really good front court that would dominate in the Big Ten.

While Culver is a want right now he could easily be bumped up to a need if Tilmon goes elsewhere.
