Over the past decade in Illinois sports history they have stayed relatively clean when it comes to NCAA violations.   Have they had some minor occurrences with the rules?  Sure, who hasn’t?  These violations might be small now but it was not always like this.

Illinois has seen a history of rules violations and bans from postseason play.  They have seen great recruits come in and other teams blowing the whistle on the program.  The Illini have been through the ringer and back when it comes to rules and the penalties that follow.  They have even been on the verge of the “death penalty”.

There has been everything from chewing some tobacco on the sidelines to paying players for their athletic services.  Illinois has seen it all.

The NCAA hands down violations all the time.  Some of these violations are small insignificant things like a player ate too much spaghetti and that is not allowed to a player’s parents get a car and a house so their son plays for that team.

The NCAA really has laid the law down on the Illini over the years.  In the next slides you will see some of the violations that the Illini have had and what the results were of them breaking these rules.
