Illinois basketball forward Cearah Parchment burst onto the scene in her freshman year with the program, helping to lead the Illini to their most impressive finish in quite some time.
Parchment was a stellar addition to a very young Illinois roster last season, as she set a multitude of different marks, which included Illinois' single-season freshman scoring record. She became the perfect running mate to superstar Berry Wallace in the frontcourt, averaging the second-most points for the Illini at 13.6 points per game.
The Whitby, Ontario, product is poised to have another big year for Shauna Green in Champaign, especially after 90% of her teammates from last year decided to return to the program. But before we tip off this fall, Parchment has another adventure to take in her homeland with Team Canada's senior team.

Parchment will be joining Canada's senior national team for the first time in her career. She will also be the youngest participant in Canada's training camp, which will certainly make her a player to watch in the upcoming FIBA Women's Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament.
Cearah Parchment will be a major spark for Team Canada as they prepare for the tournament in Guadalajara, Mexico
The standout sophomore will be riding a wave of positivity into the start of Team Canada's training camp, as they will prepare for the aforementioned FIBA pre-qualifying tournament in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Throughout the 2025-26 season, Parchment displayed her elite ability to score from all three levels, shooting 50.6% from the field and 40.7% from deep. Not only that, her intense nose for the basketball made her a legit threat on the defensive side of the court, recording an average of 1.7 steals per game for the Illini.
Parchment is a fantastic big who can stretch the floor and be a threat in multiple aspects of the game. If she can give Team Canada what she gave to the Illinois program in year one, then there's no telling what she can accomplish on the national stage.
Expect Parchment to have a stellar tenure on the FIBA circuit and to turn her name into a global phenomenon.
