3. Luke Goode

There are always a handful of players who the Illinois fanbase falls in love with. Luke Goode was one of those players with his great hustle and heart he left on the court each night.

Goode was a solid recruit coming out of Homestead High School in Indiana. He was rated as a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 103 player in the class of 2021. He was also the No. 20 small forward in the country and the No. 3 player coming out of Indiana.

I loved it when Illinois went into Indiana and Purdue’s backyard and snagged a great shooter like Goode. He was great to watch in an Illini jersey as well.

Goode was a great reserve in the three years he spent with Illinois. He averaged 4.1 points and 2.6 rebounds during his time in Champaign. His three-point shooting was special for the Illini, as he shot 38.8% for his career.

This offseason has been crazy when it comes to the transfer portal, and it was able to get Goode to depart the program. He announced he was leaving Illinois in the past few weeks, and he has already committed to a team.

The fact Goode transferred hurts and would put him on this list regardless. The reason Goode is No. 3 on the list of the most painful transfers is purely for the fact he transferred to Indiana. I want to root for the kid to succeed, but the thought of him in an Indiana jersey makes me want to puke. This one hurt my soul.
