3. Marcus Domask

There is a new name on the list of the top transfers of all time, and it is Marcus Domask. When you transfer into the Illinois program and you dominate the way Domask did, you earn a spot on the top 10 list.

Domask put up great numbers throughout his college career. He spent his first four years of college basketball at Southern Illinois where he averaged 15.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. With one final season left of eligibility, Domask took his talents to the next level.

Illinois was able to land Domask out of the transfer portal. At the time, I thought he was going to be a nice depth piece, but I was wrong. Domask was a legendary transfer for the Orange and Blue and a big reason we advanced so far in the NCAA tournament.

In the lone season Domask was in Champaign, he averaged 15.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game. He did it all for the Illini. The ability to get into the lane and finish around the rim was phenomenal. He also helped elevate the program when we needed him the most.

The Illini managed to get to the Elite 8 with Domask as one of the leaders on the team. This was the furthest Illinois had advanced in the NCAA tournament since 2005.

Domask is a legend for this program. He isn’t just one of the best transfer portal players of all time. I believe he is one of the best players to ever play for this program.
