8. Michigan Wolverines 6-6 (4-5 Big Ten)

A national title run is pretty special, but Michigan is bound to take a step back this season. They lost a head coach and a ton of talent on both sides of the ball.

  • Biggest Wins: None

This is Michigan football. It isn’t a big win unless it is a ranked opponent, and honestly, I don’t see them beating a ranked team in 2024.

All six wins I have for Michigan this season aren’t tough games. They should be able to win these games, so I can’t mark them as big wins.

  • Biggest Losses: #4 Texas, @ Washington, @ Illinois

The second game of the season against No. 4 Texas is huge. If Michigan can compete and keep this game close, that helps set the tone for the future. I think this could be a blowout, though.

The game on the road against Washington could be an eye-opener for people with Michigan. I see this game as a loss. With three losses on the schedule, Michigan then heads into Champaign and drops another game to the Illini. Those two losses send Michigan out of the top 25 and any hope of the College Football Playoff.

  • Biggest Threats: Fresno

I don’t think Michigan will struggle too much with any of the teams they beat in 2024, but Fresno could have a chance to pull an upset.

Michigan doesn’t have a ton of in-game action with the current team, and Fresno has a good, experienced, starting quarterback. I expect this game to be close early on, and if Michigan makes some bonehead mistakes, who knows?
