3. Nebraska Cornhuskers 11-1 (8-1 Big Ten)

There are two things that make a college football team good: a quarterback and coaching. I think Nebraska has finally nailed both of those roles.

  • Biggest Wins: Colorado, @ #23 USC, @ #25 Iowa

I threw Colorado in as one of the biggest wins for Nebraska because you know there is a ton of hype with the Buffaloes. Nebraska could trounce Colorado in that game.

  • Biggest Losses: @ #2 Ohio State

I know it is a bit shocking, but I have Nebraska going 11-1 overall and 8-1 in the Big Ten. The only blemish on the schedule is Ohio State.

It is always tough to win on the road in the Big Ten, and with a freshman quarterback, The Horseshoe could be a little overwhelming. I could see the Buckeyes hitting Nebraska in the mouth.

  • Biggest Threats: Illinois, @ #2 Ohio State, @ #23 USC, @ #25 Iowa

Nebraska has a lot of threats heading into the 2024 season. Don’t sleep on Illinois. The Illini head to Lincoln for the fourth game of the season. A freshman quarterback is still getting his feet underneath him. Illinois has always played Nebraska tough too, and they have won two out of the last three in the matchup.

Obviously, going on the road against the No. 2, No. 23, and No. 25 teams in the nation will be a threat. Nebraska has a good team, but again, winning on the road in the Big Ten is tough.
