Projected Big Ten football standings for the 2024 season

The college football season is upon us, so here is a full projection of how the 2024 season will finish in the Big Ten.

2. Penn State Nittany Lions 11-1 (8-1 Big Ten)

Everyone has always said Penn State can win games, but they can’t win the big games. This could be the year for the Nittany Lions, though.

Biggest Wins: @ West Virginia, #2 Ohio State

The first game of the season will be a tone-setter for Penn State. They have to go into West Virginia and take on the Mountaineers. I think the Nittany Lions can come out with a win, though.

Another huge game that I think Penn State can win is when Ohio State comes to town on November 2. The Nittany Lions need a signature win, and taking down Ohio State would be huge.

Biggest Losses: @ #23 USC

You are allowed to lose, as going undefeated is not an easy task. I do see one blemish on the Penn State schedule, and that is what the Nittany Lions head to USC on October 12. That is a long flight and a big time change. I could see those playing a factor in Penn State not looking their best in this game.

Biggest Threats: @ West Virginia, @ #23 USC

I would argue that Penn State’s game against West Virginia is one of the biggest week one games of the year. Penn State has to win this game. The Mountaineers will be ready, as they have a good quarterback behind center.

USC is obviously a huge threat to Penn State too. I think there is a good chance the Nittany Lions are undefeated going into that game. If they can manage to knock off the Trojans, this could be a special season for Penn State.
