Illinois March Madness ticket prices: How much does it cost to attend the Sweet 16?
By Sam Fariss
Illinois has breezed through the first two rounds and found its way to the Sweet Sixteen. The East Regional will kick off on March 28 with the first two matchups being UConn versus San Diego State and Illinois versus Iowa State.
For fans of the Fighting Illini, or people who just want to see good basketball, how much does it cost to get a seat in the arena?
East Regional Session 1 Tickets
Currently, fans can find seats starting at $289 apiece. However, that ticket will have you sitting by yourself and closer to the ceiling than the court.
If a fan is ready to spend a month’s paycheck on their ticket, you can find two seats closer to the courtside for $6,350 (single seats aren’t currently available).
No matter the price range, there are a shocking amount of tickets remaining for Sweet Sixteen.
East Regional Session 2 Tickets
As the tournament moves to the Elite Eight, fans can find individual tickets for $249 as of right now. If Illinois can pull off the upset over the Iowa State Cyclones, they will face the winner of the UConn versus San Diego State matchup.
If you want one of the best seats in the house, you can drop $2,385 on a ticket in the eighth row.
East Regional All-Session Tickets
For guaranteed seats in both the Sweet Sixteen and the Elite Eight, single tickets start at $556 a set.
The most expensive tickets for both sessions are around $3,900 each and can only be bought in at least a set of two – totaling $7,798.
This is the Fighting Illini's first appearance in the Sweet Sixteen since 2005 when the team made it all the way to the championship game before losing to the UNC Tar Heels.
The East Regional is taking place in Boston, MA at the TD Garden.
