Back on December 5, Eddie Tuerk posted on social media about an in-home visit with the Illinois coaching staff. In that post, Tuerk mentions that he can't wait to get to work in January. That means he is signing on December 20 and will enroll early.

There is a chance, when it is all said and done, that Tuerk is going to be the best player coming out of the Illinois class of 2024. I think, with so many departures on the defensive line, that Tuerk has a chance to not only see snaps from day one, but he could see multiple starts as a freshman.

In a repost on social media, Josaiah Knight confirmed that he will indeed be signing with Illinois on December 20. Not only will he sign, but the talented linebacker is going to be enrolling in January.

Illinois' strength on defense in 2024 could be with the outside linebackers. I like what we have in Gabe Jacas and Jared Badie. Seth Colman and Alec Bryant are monsters as well. This group is strong and is only getting stronger with Knight joining the mix.

Illinois has a great quarterback commit in Trey Petty. He hasn't confirmed this news, but it looks like Petty is signing on December 20 and will enroll at Illinois in January.

Petty is a rising star. He won the Mississippi 7A Mr. Football, and this kid could compete for snaps early on in his career. If Luke Altmyer falters this upcoming season, who knows which quarterback is next in line? It is a mad dash to be QB2, and it could end up being Petty.
