Illinois basketball transfer portal departures, where are they now?
Adam Miller
Man, there was so much potential with Adam Miller. He was a superstar in-state recruit who picked Illinois. This was supposed to be a special get for the Orange and Blue.
Coming out of Morgan Park High School in Chicago, but originally from Peoria, Illinois, Miller was a highly-rated recruit. He was rated as a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 33 player in the class of 2020. He was also the No. 6 shooting guard in the country and the No. 2 player coming out of Illinois.
Miller won the Illinois Mr. Basketball award in 2020 and had everyone after him. Illinois ended up beating out some of the blue bloods of the college basketball world. Miller was supposed to take us to the next level.
As a freshman, Miller put up good numbers. He started in 29 out of the 31 games he played for the Illini and averaged 8.3 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. There was no reason to transfer, but sure enough, on April 1, 2021, Miller entered his name into the transfer portal.
Just about a month later, Miller would announce he was transferring to LSU. Miller missed the 2021-22 season with injury, entered the transfer portal again but withdrew his name. He came back in 2022-23 with the Tigers and averaged 11.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in the 33 games he started for the program.
On April 7, 2023, Miller would again enter his name into the transfer portal. Just 10 days later, he picked Arizona State as his landing spot. This past season with the Sun Devils, Miller averaged 12.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 23 games he played. Arizona State finished the 2023-24 season 14-18 overall.
