Dante Maddox Jr. continues to lead Illinois basketball transfer portal wish list

It is tough to navigate, but Brad Underwood and the Illinois basketball coaching staff have done a great job with the transfer portal.

AJ Storr – Wisconsin Badgers

AJ Storr would be an amazing get for the Illini. He is someone who could really help in the scoring and playmaking department. Illinois could use him on the wing as well.

Storr is a 6-foot-7, 205-pound wing from Rockford, Illinois. Coming out of high school, he committed to Illinois but eventually backed away from his commitment. Storr ended up playing his first season of college basketball with St. John’s.

In year one with the Red Storm, Storr averaged 8.8 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. He also hit his three-point attempts at a clip of 40.4%. Following the season, Storr entered the transfer portal.

Wisconsin ended up being Storr’s next stop. He was sensational with the Badgers in 2023-24. He finished the year averaging 16.8 points and 3.9 rebounds per contest. Storr also had Wisconsin in the top 10 multiple times this past season.

Storr has great playmaking ability. While he only shot 32% from three-point range this past season, you can tell he is someone who has all of the ability in the world.

On March 26, Storr entered the NBA Draft and the transfer portal. He is going to go through the draft process and get evaluated. Once that is over, I believe Storr will make a decision. So, it could be weeks from now before we have an answer on Storr.

Illinois already has a Crystal Ball Prediction to land Storr, but I am not putting too much stock into that right now. We have to keep landing transfer portal players in case Storr stays in the draft.
