The NBA Playoffs have been incredible thus far, but the Minnesota Timberwolves will be a man down entering game six against the Denver Nuggets.

Minnesota has been a great story in the first round of the playoffs, and a big part of that story is Ayo Dosunmu. He dropped 43 points in a game four win over Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets. Coming off a game five loss, the Timberwolves needed all hands on deck, but that won’t be the case on Thursday night.

According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Minnesota will be without Ayo Dosunmu for game six. This is a blow to the Timberwolves entering a pivotal game for the franchise.

Minnesota currently has a 3-2 series lead, and one more win clinches a berth in the second round. But the Nuggets weren’t going to go down easy, and now the path gets substantially harder for the Timberwolves without one of their stars of the series.

Ayo Dosunmu has been playing lights out for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the NBA Playoffs

The news of Dosunmu being out for Minnesota has killed their chances of potentially moving on in the playoffs. This team has dealt with some brutal injury news, as star Anthony Edwards missed game five, and he is going to miss the rest of this series and likely more if they advance.

Dosunmu has been a bright light for the Timberwolves. He has averaged 21.8 points per game and has only had one game when he shot under 42.9% from three-point range.

The great part about Dosunmu is the energy he brings to the court. He is someone who can carry a team in a game, and that is now gone.

Minnesota is going to have to find something in game six to prevent this from going back to Denver. Tonight feels like a make-or-break for the Timberwolves’ playoff hopes.
