Keaton Wagler is a long way from Champaign, Illinois, or Shawnee, Kansas, for that matter.
The new Los Angeles Clippers guard is adjusting well to Inglewood, as he has the opportunity to help a struggling franchise get back to contention in the NBA.
On Thursday afternoon, we got to see what Wagler will have to go through to get to the NBA Playoffs, as the schedule reveal took place. The former Illinois star was front and center as the Clippers released arguably one of the better schedule release videos I have ever seen.

The video is centered around the pronunciation of Wagler’s last name. Many have called him Keaton WAG-ler, but the correct pronunciation is WOG-ler.
Wagler just wishes people knew his name and stopped saying it wrong. The video is a play on the new movie Obsession, where a guy didn’t have the guts to ask a girl out. He had a One Wish Willow and wished the girl would love him more than anything in the world. That wish came true, and the movie ended up being a horror flick.
On a much lighter note, Wagler also had something he could use to grant one wish. The concession worker at the Inuit Dome gave Wagler a Wishing Churro. You take a bite and make a wish.
The Wishing Churro worked. Everyone knew how to pronounce Wagler’s name. This included babies, who had Wagler as their first word.
Soon, all basketball fans will know the name of Los Angeles Clippers guard Keaton Wagler
Los Angeles did a great job putting that schedule video together. Wagler was great in it, and he is embracing the fact that there are a lot of people butchering his name.
The fact is, most people will know his name soon enough. He was the No. 5 overall pick in the NBA Draft, and the roster is set up for him to shine.
Wagler is undoubtedly going to be starting in the Clippers’ backcourt. Darius Garland will be right there with him, too.
I don’t see the franchise still having Kawhi Leonard, as recent reports believe the investigation into the Clippers will be done soon enough.
This leaves the runway wide open for Wagler to have a great rookie year. The expectations aren’t high for this franchise, so a good year from Wagler could mean a good year for the Clippers. It also might mean Rookie of the Year hardware.
