When the final seconds tick down on a season, there is nothing worse than seeing the other team celebrate knowing they are moving, while your season comes to an end. For Illinois, it was not just an end to a season, but an end to a season that was one game away from a National Championship appearance.

The Fighting Illini truly fought till the end, trying to take down UConn in the Final Four, but the Huskies were able to get a few more friendly rolls on the basket that Illinois did. After a hard-fought game, though, there is nothing worse than the final walk to the locker room.

After the game, someone in the tunnel caught a video of Illinois walking back, and it is one that will break the hearts of Fighting Illini fans everywhere. The visible hurt and sadness on each player's face was something no fan ever wants to see.

Illinois left it all out on the court, but it just wasn't enough

Even though at times it wasn't the best game for Illinois, they certainly showed a lot of fight in the end, trying to close the gap with UConn. One of the hardest parts of this loss is knowing that this particular team will never play on the court together again.

Many players have decisions to make about the future, including star freshman Keaton Wagler, who could take his talents to the NBA. Losing a talent like Wagler will certainly be a hit to the lineup for head coach Brad Underwood.

Even though it is probably a very grim locker room for Illinois, there is nothing that this team can hang its head about. This was a season for ages for Illinois, and even though they came up short, Illinois still made it to the Final Four, something that is not easy to do.
