Week three is on the horizon, and Illinois football is looking to move to 3-0 on the season.
The next matchup is coming from the MAC, as the Illini take on Western Michigan. The Broncos are 0-2 this season and have already played a team in the Big Ten.
Here are the Illinois football vs. Western Michigan Broncos betting odds for week three
- Moneyline: Illinois -6500, Western Michigan +2000
The Illinois moneyline is pretty ugly, as Western Michigan is a heavy underdog. You won’t get too much money in return if you bet the Illini. Illinois is currently the favorite with moneyline odds of -6500. If you bet $100, you win a total of $1.54.
- Spread: Illinois -27.5 (-112), Western Michigan +27.5 (-108)
This is a much juicier betting line for Illinois. The Illini are currently -27.5 on DraftKings. This bet pays -112. Western Michigan is getting 27.5 points, which has odds of -108.
Illinois is coming off a game against Duke where we won by 26 points. Something to keep in mind. Bret Bielema-led Illini teams have played the MAC twice. We only beat Central Michigan by 21 points last season, and Illinois took down Toledo by two points two seasons ago. So, the MAC has kind of been a thorn in the Illini’s side.
- Total: Over/Under 50.5 points
This season, the Western Illinois game went under 63.5 points. This past week against Duke, Illinois nearly covered the 49.5 points by themselves.
Illinois is currently averaging 48.5 points per game. The big question is, can the other team score points?
Western Michigan fell to Michigan State in week one, 23-6. They then lost to North Texas 33-30 in overtime last week. This offense isn’t exactly a juggernaut, but I also believe they can turn the ball over, which will rack up the points for the Illini.
49.5 points is a pretty low number, especially with how Illinois has been playing offensively.
