The season is still in full swing, as the Illinois football team looks to rebound after a tough loss.

While some people might have checked out, the Illini are still fighting strong. The goal at this point is to get to nine wins this season. That would enable us to get to a bowl game and, potentially, lock in back-to-back 10-win campaigns.

It won’t be an easy game on Saturday against Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights are always a tough team, and the Illini need to be ready.

Here are the Illinois football vs Rutgers Scarlet Knights betting odds for week 10

  • Moneyline: Illinois -470, Rutgers +360

Rutgers is coming into the game on Saturday as heavy underdogs against Illinois. This is a bit of a surprise considering the Illini have lost their last two and three out of the last five. Meanwhile, Rutgers played some inspired football last week.

You can get the Scarlet Knights at +360 to win outright on Saturday. Illinois is going off at -470.

  • Spread: Illinois -12.5 (-112), Rutgers +12.5 (-108)

Rutgers is getting nearly two touchdowns to start the game. The Scarlet Knights are +12.5 for the game, which bets at -108. Illinois is -12.5, and that goes off at -112.

This season, when Illinois is a favorite, we usually win the game. The Illini were favorites in the Western Illinois, Duke, Western Michigan, and Purdue games, and they covered the spread in each of those contests. Illinois has only covered the spread one time in four games as underdogs.

  • Total: Over 62.5 points (-105), Under 62.5 points (-115)

Las Vegas thinks the Illinois vs. Rutgers game is going to be a barnburner. That is surprising when you say it, but the numbers show it could easily be over.

The over/under is currently set at 62.5 points. The over is going off at -105 while the under is -115.

Rutgers has been good at hitting the over, accomplishing this goal in all but two games this season. Illinois is nearly as consistent, going over in five of eight games. The only thing I will note is that Illinois knows Rutgers’ quarterback pretty well, and they have seen success against him. Personally, I wouldn’t fall for the over.
