Illinois football doesn’t have time to rest, as another Big Ten game is on the schedule this weekend.

The Purdue Boilermakers await the Illini in West Lafayette. This is a Purdue team that is reeling, but they always give Illinois a tough time regardless of record.

Quarterback Ryan Browne is turnover-prone, but the only time he played Illinois, it was nearly a massive upset. He threw for 297 yards and three touchdowns. The hope is that it doesn’t happen again.

Here are the Illinois football vs Purdue Boilermakers betting odds for week six

  • Moneyline: Illinois -375, Purdue +295

The moneyline that is currently set for the Illinois game on Saturday against Purdue is -375 for the Orange and Blue. Purdue is going off at +295.

After an impressive outing against USC, the Illini are in good graces with Las Vegas again. Even on the road, Illinois should be heavy favorites in this game, given that the program is inside the top 25, and Purdue is a team that is starting from the ground up.

  • Spread: Illinois -9.5 (-112), Purdue +9.5 (-108)

Purdue is getting 9.5 points as of right now. This pays -108 compared to Illinois’ -9.5, which pays -112.

This season, the Boilermakers are 2-2 covering the spread. They covered against Ball State and USC, but they failed to cover in the Southern Illinois and Notre Dame games.

While Purdue is inconsistent on the spread, Illinois has done a good job covering this season. In four out of five games, the Illini have managed to cover by at least nine points. The only game we didn’t cover the spread was that one ugly Indiana contest. We barely missed that spread by 46 points.

  • Total: Over 57.5 points (-105), Under 57.5 points (-115)

Experts are expecting a lot of points in the Illinois vs Purdue contest. The current over/under for the game is 57.5 points. The over is paying -105 and the under is paying -115.

Purdue hasn’t been good when it comes to hitting the over. The first three games of the season all went under, with two of them going under by double-digit points. The one outlier is the Notre Dame game, which had an over/under of 51.5 points but hit 86 points in the game.

Illinois has been pretty good at hitting the over this season. In three out of five games, the Illini went over. The only two games we didn’t were due to the other teams scoring a combined three points.
