In need of more talent for the future, the Illinois basketball program has set its eyes on a huge scorer from the south.
The Illini currently have a decent start to the class of 2026, landing two commitments and sitting with a national ranking of No. 19 in the country. Brad Underwood is always looking for more talent on the floor, especially if it comes in the form of a top 50 recruit.
On Thursday, Joe Tipton of On3.com reported that Adam Oumiddoch has narrowed the scope of his recruitment. He will choose between five teams, and the programs to make his top list include LSU, St. John’s, Oregon, Villanova, and Illinois.

Oumiddoch is a 6-foot-5, 180-pound shooting guard from Overtime Elite in Georgia. He is rated as a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 45 player in the class of 2026. He is also the No. 4 shooting guard in the country and the No. 3 player coming out of Georgia.
This recruitment is moving pretty fast. Oumiddoch already has his official visits set up. He took a visit to Oregon, Villanova, and LSU in the first three weeks of September. He will then finish up with Illinois on October 17 and St. John’s on October 24.
Adam Oumiddoch would be a big-time bucket-getter for the Illinois basketball program
Illinois was missing some key pieces needed to make a run last season. One of those pieces was someone who could stop the opposing team’s momentum with a big bucket.
I think that is what Oumiddoch could bring to the program. He isn’t a lights-out shooter, but he is a very talented all-around scorer of the basketball.
This past season with Overtime Elite, Oumiddoch managed to average 17.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in 26.8 minutes per game. He is great off the dribble. The ability to get to the basket and finish is phenomenal. This kid has a lot of talent that Underwood could mold into an All-Big Ten type of player.
