Illinois Basketball: 5 burning questions for the Illini against Ottawa
2. How much play does Marcus Domask get
Illinois fans didn’t get to see Marcus Domask during the Spain trip, as he was dealing with injury. But over the last month or so, Domask has really impressed the coaching staff.
I am curious to see how much playing time Domask gets on Friday night against Ottawa. He is a newcomer to the team but also put up big numbers with Southern Illinois.
Illinois is getting a player in Domask who averaged 16.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.0 steals per game in his final year with the Salukis. Now that he is with the Illini, hopefully, we get some of that great production.
I think Domask could come in and get some valuable minutes for the Illini. He isn’t going to start, but I see Domask averaging around 17-22 minutes per game. I also see him being able to play multiple positions on the court.
Domask has a nice big body at 6-foot-6, 215 pounds. I see him coming off the bench at the No. 3 spot mainly. It wouldn’t shock me to see Domask play the No. 4 spot when Illinois goes small as well.
Having someone as versatile as Domask coming off the bench is going to be big for the Illini. Let’s see how much play he gets in the first exhibition game.
