Chris Riddle – Mac Irvin Fire (PIT)

One of the last names I wanted to mention is a player who is local and has been playing well, but he isn’t getting a ton of recruiting attention. The player is Chris Riddle.

Riddle is a 6-foot-5, 185-pound small forward from Kenwood Academy in Illinois. He is rated as a three-star recruit and ranked as the No. 151 player in the class of 2024. He is also the No. 31 small forward in the country and the No. 5 player coming out of Illinois.

Illinois was one of Riddle’s first scholarship offers back in February 2022. Since then, he has racked up numerous other offers, but besides the Illini and Texas Tech, the other big boys of the college world aren’t eyeing the kid just yet.

I think that is a mistake, though. Riddle has all of the talent in the world. He is currently suiting up for the Mac Irvin Fire at the PIT, and the team is 2-2 through four games.

Riddle has seen a ton of action in those four contests, averaging 17.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. He is also shooting 51.9% from the floor and 38.9% from three-point range.

I believe Riddle would be a great addition to the Illinois basketball program. Hopefully, once AAU season is over, the Illini can close the deal and bring him to Champaign. This kid has a ton of potential.
