No. 2 Sadiq White Jr.
This is the first and only player on this list that has some size. The other four recruits are going to be guards, but Illinois basketball will need someone who can play in the paint. That is why landing Sadiq White Jr. would be great for the program.
White is a 6-foot-7, 180-pound power forward from Myers Park High School in North Carolina. He is rated as a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 24 player in the class of 2025. He is also the No. 7 power forward in the country and the No. 2 player coming out of North Carolina.
The scholarship offer list for White hasn’t been updated, but I would take a guess that he has double-digit teams already vying for his commitment. Illinois came in with an offer to White back in October 2022, and since then, teams like Texas and Georgetown have followed suit.
Illinois has been in constant contact with White at every step of his recruitment. They go to camps and watch him play, and back in December, he mentioned Illinois as one of the three schools that were most involved in his recruitment.
White would give Illinois a couple of monsters in the paint. I could see Morez Johnson Jr. moving to the No. 5, if he isn’t a one-and-done, and White would start at the No. 4 spot. Illinois would have one of the best frontcourts in the college game.
